In today's world, simply making a living is not enough. What truly matters is making a meaningful impact. That's where Live Foundation (Livelihood Entrepreneurship) comes in. As a social non-profit enterprise, we are dedicated to working with women from marginalized communities, helping them reimagine and transform their livelihoods.
Our foundation firmly believes in the words of Roy T. Bennett: "Live the Life of Your Dreams. When you start living the life of your dreams, there will always be obstacles, doubters, mistakes, and setbacks along the way. But with hard work, perseverance, and self-belief, there is no limit to what you can achieve."
Founded on January 7, 2010, by Chhandosree, Jyoti Devi, and Kalpana Palit, Live Foundation was born out of their personal experiences. They realized that while livelihood is like pure water that sustains life, adding a pinch of sugar and salt, which we call "entrepreneurship," can make it truly special.
Through our website, we aim to raise awareness about the issues affecting women and marginalized communities, highlight success stories, and provide a platform for individuals to share their experiences.
Join us on this remarkable journey of transformation and empowerment. Together, we can create a future where every individual has the opportunity to live the life of their dreams. Explore our website to learn more about our initiatives and how you can be part of the change we're making.
LIVE FOUNDATION wishes to build an environment where people can enjoy opportunity for their wholesome development.
LIVE Foundation stands firmly on the side of the excluded and marginalized in all its interventions. Programmes pay special attention to the inclusion and leadership of tribal and Dalit women from communities, and within institutions. Current efforts focus on building capacities of youth, to take on leadership roles within their communities and become drivers of the change they want to see.
Participation of marginalized rural women is promoted through self-help-group formation, groups’ skill building with focus on their own interest and involving them in skill based projects for livelihood improvement. Under strengthening Local Self Governance institution programmes the focuses are on providing information on laws and rules, self-development, mentoring, guidance, Livelihood and handholding establishing social networks for support.
LIVE Foundation work across five interrelated programme areas and is focused on empowerment of the excluded through capacity building, knowledge building and policy advocacy.
In a decade LIVE Foundation has promoted ‘participation as empowerment’, capacity building of community organizations, and people’s participation in governance. Initiatives are undertaken in the overall perspective of ‘making democracy meaningful.
The Live Foundation, in collaboration with Jharcraft, organized a two-month training session on Lac handicraft bangles. Twenty talented women participated in this program, held from January to March, where they learned the art of crafting exquisite handicrafts.
We are thrilled to share that four exceptional women from the training have chosen bangle and handicraft making as their vocation. Their extraordinary creations were proudly showcased and sold at the esteemed Bangla Sanskritik Fair, held at Dr. Din Dayal Munda Football Stadium from 5th to 7th May 2023.
These four artisans have not only discovered their passion but have also found a path to economic independence and empowerment. Their journey exemplifies the profound impact of skill development programs in transforming lives.
We applaud the dedication and talent of these remarkable women and celebrate their success as they continue to inspire others with their craftsmanship.
The Live Foundation remains committed to nurturing livelihood opportunities and creating a brighter future for all.

Chhandosree With 21 years of experience in Journalism and Mass Communication, she thought and launched LIVE FOUNDATION at a time when becoming self-reliant was just an in-thing. Her experience in mass communication, public relations and strategic planning gives an edge to the organization to come up with tailor-made training programmes for the women and inspire them to stay connected. With her support the organization has formed over 500 self-help groups in five years, which are now economically strong and actively involved in income generating activities.
Trustee
Dr Bharti a hardcore artist in this economist was able to visualise the mission of LIVE FOUNDATION and hence she prepared the theme picture for the organization. An eye, with girls in the pupil and from the corner of the eye, birds flying. The picture itself depicts what does the organization wants to see around. Dr Bharti has nearly 25 years of experience in mentoring tribal women for economic freedom, which she has done not through class-room coaching but open field training through her art. She has carved a niche for herself through her paintings.
Trustee
